AA&R is interested in developing research projects at all levels of complexity. Our ongoing commitment to advanced research in the field of scientific and forensic art history puts us in a position where we can conduct – and help to conduct – studies on a wide variety of topics. We are especially keen to collaborate on projects studying broad questions such as an artist’s methods of working (for instance latitudinal studies of a specific period or longitudinal studies of evolution and development), research into larger themed collections (such as private collections devoted to a single subject or style of painting), questions of socio-economic context (workshop structure and differentiating master-pupil relationships; resource availability) and research methodology. We place strong emphasis on developing well-defined research problems where there is likely to be a clear outcome to the study, including assistance in writing joint research funding proposals.
